Louisiana Forest Festival - Winnfield, Louisiana -The Louisiana Forest Festival salutes the timber industry in our state. Professional Timber Sports competitions and 4-H Woodman Skills. Held in Winnfield, Louisiana the 4th weekend in April. There will be 13 lumberjack events to cheer on with 6 different chainsaw events. Louisiana Gumbo Festival - Chackbay, Louisiana - The Louisiana Gumbo Festival is held on the 3rd weekend of October each year. Great food, rides, music and a Sunday parade. This festival is listed as one of the top 20 events in the South. The Louisiana Gumbo Festival of Chackbay offers a large variety of Cajun cuisine such as Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, Seafood Gumbo, Fried Fish, Hot Dogs, Chilli Dogs, Hamburgers, French Fries, Chilli Fries, Crawfish Balls, Sauce Piquante, Jambalaya, and many other choices.
